At Westhive, the providers of coworking and flexible office space, the signs are pointing to growth.

In 2019, sales and capacity were increased substantially – while utilization remained high. Several new openings are therefore planned for the next 12 months.

The first is a new location in the heart of Zurich city centre: the location on the corner of Bleicherweg and Stockerstrasse offers around 90 jobs – and is already fully booked to the opening in March 2020, with only a few places available

«The demand for flexible office solutions exceeds all our expectations,» says Claus Bornholt, one of the three Westhive founders. «Coworking is definitely no longer just a start-up topic. Many of our clients are established companies that are looking for more flexibility.» It’s not only smaller companies that benefit from the advantages of flexible office solutions. «Many medium and large companies in Switzerland are not very centrally located,» Bornholt explains, «they benefit immensely from an additional location in the Swiss metropolitan regions.»

The expansion into the city centre of Zurich is therefore a logical step. The almost 1000 square metre location is in a prime location, just a few steps away from Zurich’s Paradeplatz at the corner of Bleicherweg/Stockerstrasse. «The new location in downtown Zurich is a hugely important step for us» says Claus Bornholt. «Small, flexibly rentable office spaces are rare today, especially in the central inner-city locations. We will change that.»

Since a large part of the approximately 90 desks to be opened have already been leased, Westhive plans to successively increase its capacity. «We will continuously expand our presence in downtown Zurich and here at the Bleicherweg location in the coming months. And in April we will open the Wollishofen site» Bornholt continues, «for which we were able to win two well-known Swiss communications agencies as anchor tenants.»
