Juice Technology AG, leading manufacturer of portable charging stations for electric cars, has announced its partnership with OPEL (Groupe PSA). As an official supplier, the Swiss company will supply the portable UNIVERSAL CHARGER for the OPEL Corsa-e, Grandland X Hybrid4 and the Grandland X Hybrid with immediate effect.

Juice Technology AG’s sophisticated, yet easy-to-use charging solutions appeal not only to EV drivers, but also to major manufacturers in the automotive industry. Juice Technology AG is now providing the UNIVERSAL CHARGER for the OPEL Corsa-e, Grandland X Hybrid4 and the Grandland Hybrid, offering e-car drivers an all-inclusive, stress-free package right from the off.

“Developing and expanding the underlying infrastructure is essential if we are to see progress in e-mobility. The best way to drive this forward is for charging infrastructure manufacturers and the automotive industry to work together – this is really important. Which is why it gives me great pleasure to announce our partnership with OPEL. Anyone who buys an e-car will now have direct access to a stress-free charging solution at home, on the road and at public charging stations – all from the same device, at a very attractive price,” explains Christoph Erni, Juice Technology AG’s founder and CEO.

From now on, OPEL customers can use the configurator to order the UNIVERSAL CHARGER when buying a Corsa-e, Grandland X Hybrid4 or Grandland X Hybrid – safe in the knowledge that this is the right model for their car, as tested and recommended by the manufacturer.

As Frank Leibold, Group Manager European Individualization & Accessories for Opel/Groupe PSA explains, “Juice Technology AG is our ideal partner: advanced technology, comfort, safety and everyday usability are just as important to Juice as they are to us. We can now offer our customers a charging solution for the Corsa-e, Grandland X Hybrid4 and Grandland X Hybrid models which is not only at the top of its game in terms of technology, but still extremely easy to use thanks to its ingenious design.”

The UNIVERSAL CHARGER uses the same technology as the world’s best-selling portable 22 kW charging station, JUICE BOOSTER 2. And not without reason. JUICE BOOSTER 2 is the only portable charging station of its class that complies effectively with the standards, as confirmed by the ADAC (German Automobile Association) test on portable chargers, in which JUICE BOOSTER came out top. The UNIVERSAL CHARGER has exactly the same functions, standards and safety specifications. It is also compatible with all JUICE BOOSTER 2 adapters and add-ons, allowing UNIVERSAL CHARGER owners to add to their set as they require (incl. Type 2, CEE16 and shockproof adapters).

The key benefits of the UNIVERSAL CHARGER at a glance:

  1. Recharge your car from any power socket: The UNIVERSAL CHARGER is compatible with JUICE BOOSTER 2 adapters and add-ons. This means you can charge the OPEL Grandland X and Corsa-e at any power socket, anywhere in the world.
  2. Automatic detection of socket input current: The charger always sets itself automatically to the optimum charging power output, ruling out any overloading of power socket capacity.
  3. Prevents household sockets from overheating: patented sensor technology in the plug pins ensures risk-free charging even when using older sockets.
  4. The UNIVERSAL CHARGER is completely watertight (IP 67) and can withstand being run over by a wheel load of up to three tonnes.
  5. JUICE CONNECTOR adapter plug: This connector is CE-compliant and designed to be able to accommodate functions introduced at some future date – Giving drivers the confidence that buying a UNIVERSAL CHARGER is a long-term investment.
