True to the slogan “Broadband Innovations”, AVM will be presenting new FRITZ!Box models for fiber optics and cable with Wi-Fi 6, the world’s first home network router for 5G as well as the complete portfolio for Mesh WiFi and Smart Home at BBWF 2019 in Amsterdam from 15 to 17 October.

The new standard represents a milestone in the 20-year history of wireless LAN. It enables higher data rates and better response times for multiple devices using wireless LAN at the same time. AVM will be presenting three products with Wi-Fi 6 in Amsterdam: the FRITZ!Box 5550 and FRITZ!Box 5530 for fiber optics and the FRITZ!Box 6660 Cable. The two fiber models are suitable for all common fibre optic connections throughout Europe and wirelessly distribute gigabit speeds in the home network via Wi-Fi 6 and a 2.5 Gbit/s fast LAN port.

The new FRITZ Box 6660 Cable also has Wi-Fi 6 on board for fast DOCSIS 3.1 cable connections. An additional highlight is the FRITZ!Box 6850 5G. It’s the world’s first all-in-one home network router for the new 5G mobile communications generation. With fast wireless LAN, gigabit LAN and a base station for telephony and Smart Home, it offers full convenience on future 5G and current LTE connections. AVM is also showing trade fair visitors the FRITZ!Box 7583 for the fast connection types VDSL vectoring, supervectoring 35b, bonding and G.fast. With the current FRITZ!OS 7.13, the all-rounder for DSL has just received new functions for Mesh WiFi, internet and Smart Home. A focus topic at the BBWF is Mesh WiFi. AVM will be showing the complete generation of Mesh WiFi Repeaters live in action. The four FRITZ!Repeaters 3000, 2400, 1200 and 600 fulfill all requirements when it comes to wireless LAN coverage and range. The smart FRITZ!DECT 500 LED bulb expands the Smart Home portfolio to include lighting control and offers white and color lighting for every situation.

The LED bulb can be operated via the new FRITZ!App Smart Home, the FRITZ!Fon as well as from web browser. As an all-in-one control for all Smart Home scenarios, the new FRITZ!DECT 440 smart button, which includes a display and a range of switch controls, is suitable for use with FRITZ!DECT products. All new FRITZ! products can be experienced live at stand D20 in the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre.

With the FRITZ!Box 5550 AVM presents a new model for use at fiber optic connections. For a G-PON, XGS-PON or a point-to-point network (AON), the new FRITZ!Box can be connected via the appropriate connector module directly with the fiber optic wall socket. Equipped with the new Wi-Fi 6 standard, the FRITZ!Box 5550 can distribute the high gigabit speed wirelessly throughout the house.

Data rates of up to 2400 Mbit/s are possible in the 5-GHz band, and up to 600 Mbit/s can be reached in the 2.4-GHz band. For cabled home networks the FRITZ!Box 5550 offers a fast 2.5 Gbit/s LAN port, which permits connection to the widely-used 1 Gbit/s LAN. A particular highlight of the FRITZ!Box 5550 is its highly flexible use within buildings. Existing telephone lines can be used to pass along the fiber optic speed in the house via G.fast to another FRITZ!Box 5550. Without great expense or technical expertise, it is possible to use the Mesh function to transport the complete functionality of the relevant device (telephone, wireless LAN, Smart Home) at the connection to the rest of the building. With this optional connection mode and the interchangeable fiber optic module, the future-proof FRITZ!Box 5550 offers flexibility in the expansion phase of fiber optic networks.

Alongside the FRITZ!Box 5550, AVM is exhibiting an additional model, the FRITZ!Box 5530, which has been developed exclusively for fiber optic use. Both fiber optic models, the FRITZ!Box 5550 and FRITZ!Box 5530, will be available from network operators and retail outlets in 2020.

With both models users receive FRITZ! features including firewall, parental controls, remote access, wireless guest access and regular updates.
