The Swiss technology startup company Akenza (formerly Hivemind) is one of the first Swiss companies to move its data to Microsoft’s Cloud in Switzerland. Akenza CEO Vikram Bhatnagar says,”The security and fast accessibility of our data and the data of our customers is our highest priority. That’s why the move to the Microsoft Cloud in Switzerland was so obvious for us: It gives us security, scalability and availability – all highly critical factors in the IoT business”. The Microsoft Cloud in Switzerland is up and running with two datacenters in the Zurich and Geneva regions since Wednesday, 28th of August.


Akenza simplifies the Internet of Things

Akenzas IoT system “Akenza Core” connects millions of IoT devices, delivers commands to them, and collects device data, facilitating device management, data integration, and data analysis. It enables device connectivity via industry standard IoT protocols and supports both Software as a Service (SaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) deployments. More than 30 companies are participating in Microsoft’s Swiss Cloud as “Early Adopters”, including many Microsoft partners from all regions of Switzerland, who support their customers in the digital transformation of their business. The first customers using the new cloud regions in Switzerland include UBS, Swiss Re, die Mobiliar, BKW Group, Skyguide, City of Zug, Exploris Health and Swisscom among others.
