Coworking provider Westhive is opening a new location directly at Zurich Airport, inside The Circle – Switzerland’s largest building construction project – enriches the existing concept with education, knowledge & innovation components and opens its doors in late summer 2020.

After the coworking spaces at Hardturmstrasse and the Hürlimann Area, the Zurich coworking pioneers of Westhive are expanding beyond the city limits. In The Circle, the new business complex directly adjacent to the airport, they will occupy a space of 3,350 square meters on two floors in a central location directly above the main square.

In addition to coworking workplaces, the new location offers space for training and education events, courses and seminars, strategy and ideation workshops, presentations and training courses. The extensive facilities range from a spacious multimedia auditorium for 250 people, meeting rooms and breakout rooms of various sizes, to a café with a bar and spectacular views of the airport and tarmac. “Education, Knowledge & Innovation has always been a central element of our coworking concept,” explains Westhive co-founder Claus Bornholt. “Here at The Circle, we are focusing even more on this aspect. The Circle also has flexible workplaces like our previous coworking spaces. But the highlight is the variety of the rooms, which are equipped to highest technological standards and can be rented by the hour or by the day to work together, learn, discuss, develop and drive things forward.”

The new location has excellent traffic connections: Tram and bus stops are only a few dozen meters away, SBB railway station and airport just a few hundred meters. The airport motorway and multi-story car park are within walking distance, making it easy for private transport to reach the stations. “You simply cannot find a more central location in the whole of Switzerland than The Circle,” says Westhive co-founder Andreas Widmer. “We are convinced that with this offer we can address companies and organizations of all kinds that are looking for an optimally located and excellently developed infrastructure”.

Westhive currently operates coworking spaces at two locations with a total of around 400 workplaces, a dozen meeting rooms and its own restaurant. The Circle increases the number of desks to 600. “Demand has exceeded all our expectations,” says Bruno Rambaldi, the third of the three founders. “This puts us in a position to realize such a large and prestigious project as The Circle. In addition, we are currently evaluating numerous other locations in various Swiss cities”.
